Think of it as big gussets that sit on the rear to strengthen them.

Re: What is this....anyone know?

It is an old axle truss for sure. These were mounted on the bottom of the axle to prevent bending of the axle housing and slightly preload it. The "hooks" clamped around the axle ends behind the backing plate in opposing pairs then the tie rod was tightened up to bear against the center section, located by the clips in the middle.

Re: What is this....anyone know?

Posted this a couple years back and just thought I'd check in and see if you did anything with that truss.

Re: What is this....anyone know?

It's sitting in storage... I think. I would have to look around for it.

Re: What is this....anyone know?

What did you take it off of. If you still have it I may be willing to take it off your hands. Let me know. Thanks
