Re: early hubs

I guess it will be tough to find Dana/Spicer hubs. You may find someone who replaced theirs and still has the good one. Personally,I don't find using other hubs from the same vintage as a non-original thing. Most trucks came w/o lockout hubs and later installed Warn,Selectro,Dual-matic,etc. It was more common to see those brands on a '61 than OEM option hubs. It's like non-original tires or batteries,to me,to set aftermarket lock-out hubs on a vintage 4wd. But,I'm into real world restorations, not showroom, these days. I guess it's the nostalgia factor for me. Not many left anything "as purchased" in reality and lock-out hubs, better tires, and winches were common 1st stop after purchase items on trucks that were actually used.

Re: early hubs

Believe me,I hear That!! And,original is just cool. Keep an eye on the parts board and who knows...maybe some will appear. With all the swaps to disc front axles I'd think spare parts would be out there. I think it's a shame to scrap good old parts. And especially normal wear items like lock out hubs that are easy to pull off and store.
