Hi All:

I want to sell/trade a TH350 coupled to a Np203 that I've got. What are they worth as a unit? The np203 has not been kitted for part time and the tranny has no torque converter.

I realize that the np203s aren't as desirable as a 205, a friend wants the combo, and I want to know what's a fair price for it so I'll know what I can expect to trade for it.

My guess is in the $150-$250 range. Does any of it need rebuilding? If the transmission is a "K" case with the aluminum flywheel cover it is worth a little more.

Is it me, or does that NP203 look awefully big, especially at the back. Here is a picture of my 203 when I had it out last summer.

Well, if you're looking for maximum return I'd consider separating them and cleaning them up. Sell the transmission separately without a tailhousing, or go get one that can be used to install in a 2wd truck. It'll be easier to sell.

A good TH350 with good fluid conditions in good clean shape ready to install is easily worth $200-$400. One of average quality that has some miles left, but also has wear (which is what this looks like from the pic) is probably worth $150-$200. One that need rebuilding depending on the shape I would think would be worth $100 or less.

I've bought two TH400 that both need to be rebuilt and I paid $100 and $150 respectfully, but that's because the cases are a little more desireable, and it's a bullet-proof transmission. The one I have in my truck right now is clean and resealed with some miles left. I'd drop it out and sell it for $250 right now if I had to.

A friend wanted them as a unit to put in his old international, I was just trying to get some ideas as to what it was worth in respect to some trading.

The tranny and t-case I got as you see them, so I don't know what shape they're in internally, certainly externally they aren't too pretty. I'm going to assume that the tranny is going to need a rebuild as the dipstick has been open to the world for the last two years before I got it.

What I was trying to determine was if using it for a trade (or partial trade) for rebuildable small block or a big block chevy was reasonable.

bouncytruck: Yeap that 203 looks big, but I think it's because it's still coupled to the tranny and crossmember and because it's sitting horizontally. Yours looks identical to mine, except yours is alot cleaner.
