Exclamation New to forum, have a starting issue cant figure out

Hello hope someone can help me out, I'm having a problem getting my truck to start unless i move the shift lever and steering column around, and when i do get it started (not always) the left backup light is on and i have to pull up on shifter lever to keep starter from still running. This all started when my lock cylinder would not go into acc, so i took steering column apart (way more than i needed to) to clean lock cylinder and see if i could get it to go into acc which i did. Then the fun started when i had to put it all together, had a hard time getting the actuator rod and sector cam lined up just right. After getting it back together tried to start truck with no luck, did this numerous times with no luck. So now i bought a new lock cylinder and took ignition switch off column so i could get actuator rod and sector lined up, boy was that easy doing it that way. Then i put everything back together on column and put ignition back on column and actuator(cylinder in locked position along with ignition swicth) Everything seemed ok but still no start, i have the column support bolts loose so i can move column up and down a little along with pulling on shift lever til truck starts then have to move shift lever around to get starter to stop being engaged. Hope i explained this so someone can help me out. Thanks
