Factory Air Pres gauge for bags?

I have recently bought a set(4) of Dominator 2600 bags for my '69 SWB. I really want to use a cluster that includes a factory gauge from one of the big trucks to maintain a stock appearance. Has anyone done this with success? I have 2 3 gal tanks with Viair 400 compressors.

I'm planning on doing the same thing with my '66. A 60-66 gauge goes up to 150psi, not sure what the later model gauges register though. I did some searching and found that 150 psi max tank pressure would be adequate.

My gauge is to 150# as well. I know it will work with 1 tank but will need to somehow get another to measure the other tank? Or is there anyway I could tie the two tanks into one gauge?

If they are teed together, they will be at the same pressure

Would there be anything wrong with that?

I think it's typical to tie the tanks together for more available air volume. I can't think of any good reason to leave them separate.

Re: Factory Air Pres gauge for bags?

Thank you for the input. I couldn't think of reason not to but I am still new to air.

I'm new to it too, only have my bags installed so far but no plumbing, valves, tanks or compressor yet.

If the gauge only goes to 150, I'd plumb in some type of pressure valve so you don't send more than 150#'s to the gauge and potentially break it. If that fails, then you'd have a leak in your tank and your comps would not turn off.

Re: Factory Air Pres gauge for bags?

Great suggestion Tubbed. I would probably cry if my brand new gauge blew up.
