Those things are AWEsome... and bulletproof. SO much better than an overdrive tranny.

Good find!
I admit I've never understood why someone would buy one of these new. For the money, you can install a nice OD transmission and probably still have some left over.

Re: AA overdive on craigslist
What kind of crazy drive shaft angle would you need to work with that. And how short.

Re: AA overdive on craigslist
Can someone explain when this would be used and what is different than an overdrive transmission? Is this for a four wheel drive trucks also?

Re: AA overdive on craigslist
I found one in my local Ecology Pick and Pull and bought the entire set up fopr $100 (including all electronics). Got the right adapter to fit my NP205 off ebay, rotated my rear axle spring perches, had a new slip yoke CV driveshaft made and bolted all in. Best mod I ever made. Its been working hard for three years now without a hitch. A lot of people thought the Blazer was too short to install it without a crazy driveline angle, but it worked out just fine, even with the bigger 14 bolt rear center section.
It should be noted that the pics were taken with a bit of droop, so the angle is even flatter than it appears. I also run a 6 inch lift. Last edited by cleszkie; 04-16-2012 at 01:34 PM. Reason: More Info |
