I have heard of guys putting razor blades around thier stereo decks behind the dash so when the unknowing perp sticks his hand in there trying to steal the radio he cuts his finger all to hell, and leaves plenty of DNA evidence.

I have heard of that on the board too. I actually thought about it on mine, but i figured i would just forget about the blades and cut the hell out of myself instead

I just yank my faceplate if i leave the truck unattended for more than a few hours....So far no one has touched it

Just do the razor blade trick with your exhaust!

find a way to electically charge your exhaust with about 75,000 volts. Very painful but generally not fatal(unless they have heart problems)

LOL, I posted that a long time ago, didn't think anyone would remember. Yep, you can solder razor blades to the back of the unit, but it leaves you wide-open to a law suit. (us law-abiding citizens are the ones that always get screwed).

randy i concidered that it fell off too, but i dont know how possible, i had 2 self tapping sheet metal screws holding that bastard on, it was on good, the screws went though the tip and the tail pipe, do you think it gets hot enough that the holes the screws made in the tail pipe expanded? s hit you think i wouldve ran that sucker over if it fell off.., the dump was right infront of my rear tire

Since everyone's having a little vent here. My experience with Midnight Auto was with a 1972 Chevelle I had during school, I'd had friends who got their batteries ripped off but had'nt had anything bad happen to me. One morning I went out to the car and coming up from behind I could see that the hood was slightly popped, I was pissed because I figured someone had stolen the battery and there was no way I could afford a new one, I come around to the front and my pristine grill was gone.

I called the cops and the officer who came out told me that unless there was some way of positively identifying the grill there was no way I was going get anything back. I ended up adapting an older grill from a wagon to put in it's place.

It's a pi$$er for sure when that happens, some little ratbags tried to break into my sister's Caravan a few years ago, they never got in but they busted the hell out of the driver's side door handle trying to pry it off. You know I think alot of the real damage that ends up happening has to be kids, because a professional (?) thief would have taken the car.

hehe, that's what I did with my exhaust a few months ago. About the tip falling off, there is a possibility. I used a 3/4 drive ratchet to crank the piss out of the muffler clamps on my exhaust, and after driving around for a bit (okay, okay - so I was driving like a madman

) the exhaust was hanging down a bit - and loose!! I re-tightened it, and haven't had a problem to this day, but.........

Sounds like you need a high powered pellet gun and scope to take care of those kids!

My buddy with his "sleeper" 67 Mustang has a massive chain and padlock underneath the hood to make sure his goodies stay in place. Probably need to do something similar with my 71 here soon.

This week, when the brakes were not working and the booster was off I parked it with the e-brake on in the driveway (it is usually behind a gate on the side of the house) and put blocks underneath the back two wheels.

First I knew that with the huge vacuum leak with the booster gone, getting it to idle would be a challenge. Then, with its glass packs and old mufflers, the whole neighborhood would know. And lastly, if they did get it to the street...and running, they hit the brakes and keep rolling...

So I knew it wasn't going to get very far! And I know there are some goofs on my street. Two years ago my daily driver truck was broken into and rummaged through, but NOTHING was taken! Not even the case of pepsi on the front seat! Figure that one out...
