Did I pay to much?

Sometimes when I see blazers for sale I feel I may have paid to much for mine. I live in Wisconsin and blazers (1st gen) are far and extremely few between around here. I didn't want to buy one sight unseen so each time I went and looked at one it cost me a plane ticket plus other expenses and time. The one I got was from california for 13k and is nice and solid. Not a show truck but very nice. Just needed some tuning and alot of little stuff. I've looked at some that look nice from afar but up close and personal show alot of rust and have things hacked up. Every time I see a nice for sale blazer add that looks good. I think....oh I wish I woulda waited that looks nice. Maybe it only bothers me cause I notice all the little things wrong with mine and am being critical cause it's mine. Just wondering if anyone else has these thoughts? I do love my blazer and am having fun while getting all the kinks worked out though. Fixing all the electrical now under the hood, and doing a headlight upgrade and alternator upgrade. Then on to the doors....hinges, glass, felt, liners, ect. Changed the cracked intake and carb already. I guess I'm just venting. Either way I'm still happy to have my blazer since wanting for the 15 years when I was 16.....lol I need to start a build thread. thanks for bein there to hear me whine guys. Lol I feel l

Honestly? I wouldn't worry about it because what's done is done. As long as you're happy with your vehicle, that's all that matters now.

Re: Did I pay to much?

If you have a solid rust-free blazer that only needs minor repairs and cosmetic work, then I think you did fine. I know I have a lot more than that in mine and it is my daily driver. I wish I had just saved and bought one from out west. RUST IS BAD!

Re: Did I pay to much?

If you didn't "break the bank"-- strap yourself financially buying it or find some big nasty surprise after you bought it ya' oughta stop stewin' about it. If you had the money, wanted one and are enjoying it, then it was a good deal. I looked at your pictures on your profile and that's a damn fine lookin' Blazer! Post a few pictures here... compliments will do you good.

Re: Did I pay to much?

I bought mine for less than half of what you have in yours, but in the short time I've owned it I've already dumped $3500 into it. I'll probably have another 1500 or so in parts I'll need to buy to get everything mechanically sound and that's without doing paint and some minor rust repair which it needs. By the time I have it the way I want I'm sure it will be close to 20k. Old cars are an expensive hobby no way around it. You either pay up front or pay on the back end when you have to replace things on that bargain ride you got.

Re: Did I pay to much?

Just checked out the pictures on your profile. That blazer is sharp. I don't think you overpaid at all.

Re: Did I pay to much?

I remember looking at this blazer when he had it for sale. If it's the one I'm thinking of the seller had a you tube video of it. It's a nice truck! Just relax and enjoy it! The thing to remember is that your time is worth money! It's always cheaper to buy one that has had the exspenive stuff done already. More than likely someone put alot more money into it than what you paid. Now is the time to take the top off and drive it!!

Re: Did I pay to much?

Looks Good! Looks like Palm Springs/29 Palms area. I felt like that about mine for a bit, especially finding/fixing things I didn't catch before buying. I must be in to it more than you by now... and the hours spent???? My wife would love to tell you about the hours spent, I think she is jealous
