That looks great! Just how much was that setup? Did they know exactly where to put the control arm pads?

$2100 plus shipping $150 . I measured and gave them what I had and they said, " Thats want we have" . I'm sure I'm not the 1st 67-72 they have built one for. When it arrived I re-measured and it looks good to me. If they wouldn't have forgotten the Trac -Bar it would be in trhe truck and I would be a happy camper

I'm curious.... What is it about the ford rears that makes them superior to the GM units..???

To be perfectly honest Vinnie I don’t know for sure. I know the gears are beefier and are supposed to be stronger. I needed to have my rear end done and it was going to cost ~$1500 (yes I know some guys do it cheaper) so I figured for another ~$500 - $600 Why Not

The Ford rears have a modular center section. If you decide you want to switch gear ratios, simply drop out the center section and put in a new one.
If you want to swap rears on a non-modular rear (such as a 12 bolt Chevy), you have to completley dismantle it, and install new gears to precision tolerances. Gears, parts and isntallation can easily run up to over $500, much more if you want a posi unit. The more expensive yards around here want $150 for a complete 9" center section with 3.50 gears and positraction......defenitly much easier and cheaper to deal with
