Suburban tail/liftgate support detail

For Suburban owners: Anybody have a Burb that they think has NOT been repainted on the inside around the gate opening? Just curious what you can tell of assembly/paint sequence in regards to the supports for the gate and lid.
It seems there is more evidence that the arms/supports were in place BEFORE paint than after. On mine, fawn paint is all over everything back there including latches, arms and supports. Is yours this way? There might be just traces remaining because it flakes off pretty easily if you scrape it. Seems pretty sloppy to me, but I'm thinking that's how they did it. Yes, no?

Mine is un molested and they are the same way. Supports, hinges, latch, guides all are painted. I would add a photo or two but can't get them to add from my phone anymore.

Re: Suburban tail/liftgate support detail

I would disagree based on ours. We know it has been repainted on the outside, but it really doesn't look like it at all on the inside and I don't see the previous, original owner cleaning these components...

My 64 burb from Fremont those are not painted. All seem added after paint-fawn paint under them.

I wonder if year was a factor in the refinish order on this sort of thing. Mine is a 61.

Mine is a '65 from Fremont. I talked to a guy a few years ago who had several all-original suburbans, and all had the overspray. It's seems from the few responses so far on this thread, year and assembly plant may not be a factor. It's not yet making sense. More responses please, and include year and plant if you know it. Thanks
