Trac Bar Alignment?

Hi Everyone,

So I'm trying to get my CPP Trac bar aligned properly (rear axle centered). The axle doesn't want to come over to make the distances even. I have play if I push it the other way, but it's tight where I have it now and it still needs to come over a about a quarter or half inch. I don't think I can get it over anymore (I've tried like 10 times). Is there a trick to this that I need to know about? Could something else be causing the alignment to be off? I'm measuring the distance between the frame and the rear tire on both sides to get my center measurement. I mocked up the stock panhard bar and it seems to fit right where it is with the alignment off????

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Could this be the problem. Have other people heard of sagging springs making it stick out to the passenger side? That is the side with too much room...

Try loosening the U-bolts that hold the axle to the trailing arm, then loosen the two front trailing arm mounting bolts (front of the arm -to-the chassis mount). With these bolts loose, adjust the panhard rod, then, with the truck sitting at ride hieght, tighten all of the bolts back to factory spec.

I bet this will clear the binding up!

Hopefully. I never would have though to loosen the trailing arm mounts. This is the only issue keeping me from driving my 67 down to the shop to get my new Vintage Air System charged!! I can't wait.

For a quarter or half an inch, I always just hook a ratchet strap to the frame and across to the axle. Crank it to pull it in line, insert bolt.
