600 cfm carb?
Would a 600cfm carb be to big for a stock 350? I'm looking at the Edlebrook 1406. I currently have a Holley Quad Jet (450cfm).
Any input would be helpful.

Nope.
An edelbrock 1406 is the perfect carb for a stock 350. It should be jetted almost perfectly right out of the box.

I love mine. It's so much better than the one that was on there before.

I have the same carb on my truck with a 350. It ran rich out of the box. I suggest you get the tunning kit. It is so easy to dial in.

I agree with everyone, and also with 68suburban's comment.
I can't remember the numbers right now, but the manual choke version is almost always way too rich. The Electric choke (which i recomend) is normally just right, and maybe a bit on the lean side. They are very easy to tune and swap parts out in them. |

If it is too lean or rich, it takes 3 minutes to swap metering rods and make it just right.
My 1406 was too lean out of the box, but my motor isn't stock either.
