Road Trip
To Scenic Death Valley where it was only 106° F in the shade....
First pic is the road , CA RT 178 from Badwater to Shoshone Second pic is Tecopa Hot Springs , my truck and my 1980 Cadillac S & S Victoria Fleetwood Hearse , bracketing some old long dead Willys pickup truck .

Re: Road Trip
Great pics! One of these days, I'm going to do a long distance trip in my truck. Just get in the truck, head north and drive.
Oh, the irony of a hearst driving through "death" valley

Re: Road Trip
Yeah ;
My big brother drove it , he said he'd not go unless the AC was fixed , so we got a brandy new Delco R4 compressor from NAPA , a new receiver-dryer , new Orifice tube , oil and R12 , flushed all manner of crap , old oil & debris from the condensor then installed the new parts, evacuated it it and it held good so we added oil & R12 , it was good for three days then the new compressor failed ~ it's still cold (37°) , it just sounds like loose marbles inside the compressor . Now to repeat all that hard works . We had fun though .

Re: Road Trip
Is that a GPS on your dash? I'm disappointed Nate, I thought you were old school
Here, hold the wheel while I fold this map back up....

Re : GPS
Indeed it is ! .
I have to say , I just received it as a gift from my son the trash truck Mechanic , he spotted it and cleaned it up , it's very old but still works a treat ~ I've wanted to try one for a while now . As I tend to ride alone , I don't have time to handle maps whilst blasting along , As it turned out , as soon as I turned North off Badwater on Ca. Rt. 178 , it stopped getting signals , good thing I knew where I was , I also had my big map book but I dislike pulling over to read them . Didja know ? you can change the language it talk in , to various different . As I don't set up any routes in it , I just have it scrolling along , this means it doesn't ever talk to me but it beeps occasionally . I'm old yes but my son keeps teaching me new things so I'm always open to try something .

Re : Technology
I didn't get a Touch Tone Telephone until 1996 when I had to to operate menus .
I still have mostly dial 'phones in my house and of course , the " Candlestick " 'phone next to my bed.....
