Smile short or long water pump

Hello to everyone out there. It's about time the weather is getting better.

I'm looking to change my short water pump on my 72 Chevy C10 350. Would I be able to put a long water pump on instead? If so, is one better than the other? Thank you, George

Re: short or long water pump

The long water pump requires different pulleys, P/S brackets, A/C brackets, and alt. brackets.
Totally different set-up.

Re: short or long water pump

Hi Keith, thank you so much for that information. I had no idea I would have to go through something like that. I'll just stick with the short water pump and save myself money and a headache. Thanks again Keith and have a great weekend, George

Re: short or long water pump

Keith, I'm not sure what the difference is between a High Volume water pump and a regular pump. Would you know? Thanks, George

Re: short or long water pump

Better cooling maybe?
I like the Edelbrock aluminum water pumps.

Re: short or long water pump

The high volume ones are suppose to move more water through the system
