For the regular Burb guys... I know... I know... I've shown it before.

Re: Lets See Some Interiors Of Everybody's Burbs
Thanks!
Too bad that driver seat is showin' some wear. On top of the 50K miles they lived in their '05 donor Suburban. My backside has added another 18,500 miles on it since I installed the seats in May '10.

Re: Lets See Some Interiors Of Everybody's Burbs
Quote:
I built it out of 1/8" thick luan plywood and headliner fabric from Joanne Fabrics. Also built the drop down overhead console and speaker enclosures. I removed the front rear channels and use the side channels to support it and give it the radius. The LED dome lights were $6.00 each from a truck driving website. 12" TV/DVD combo: $50 on ebay. I've never really done the math, but I've probably got under $500 in it including the overhead radio unit and 8 speakers stereo. Quote:
Vintage A/C - um, gen III system I believe. I will likely be adding rear air this summer and rebuilding the rear speaker enclosure.

Re: Lets See Some Interiors Of Everybody's Burbs
no pics of the build. Just a couple before (when I had nothin up there) and some of what it looks like now. I wasn't even aware the forum existed when I was building it. But if you measure left to right at several points (from front to back) and then add a couple inches. The extra material will "create" the bend. It is only supported by a 1x6 that runs the length of the center. The tension of the bend keeps the radius intact. The overhead console in the center of the front is actually screwed through the luan into the 1x6. The screws are hidden behind the dome light. I put a bracket with a lip up near the front, so I can unscrew that back and it comes right out. It's been up for 2 years with no issues.
Now, luan only comes in 4x8 sheets, so I had to get two sheets and run them perpendicular to the ceiling of the Burb. This was why I had to build the speaker bar over the 2nd row seats. I needed to create a "break" to start the 2nd piece of Luan. I took this one the first day I installed it. The overhead console wasnt even completely screwed in place in the photo. It aint perfect, but it works great for me (and my kids have never complained either)

Re: Lets See Some Interiors Of Everybody's Burbs
Thats awesome! I want to buy a suburban. I'm dealing with the wife to try and convince her to let me get it. If not I might just go buy it anyway and deal with the cold shoulder affect for awhile. I found a 70 K10 in good shape w/ minor rust for $3,500. I'm pretty sure I could pick it up for $3,000.

Highlander ... You guys have some sweet interiors. I even like the more modern ones (usually more of a stock type guy).

I love these Suburbans! I do some custom interior work on the side and Im curious if any of you guys have ever thought about recovering your dash pads and having a french seam run across it. They really finish off the dash nice.

Very nice and clean. What gauges are those in your cluster? and also what electronic device is that sitting on your console? looks like a stereo/remote of some sort?

It is a Dakota Digital Dash and the box on the console is a Sirius Satellite radio controller.

Probably going to use this folding seat for my 3rd row. Seat is from a 79 Jimmy I used to have.
