My Blue 1957 build
well this will be my first post for restarting an old build. My father and I began building this 57 back when i was in high school. Needless to say it was started and never finished. It has been in my parents backyard for about 16 years sitting. I told my parents they can keep the motor and trans that are in it for there 58 build hopefully. The motor is/was new at the time. I want a little more power under the pedal then a stock 350.

Re: My Blue 1957 build
i have done alittle to it already. Finished pulling front clip off to get the motor ready to come out. Just need to pull it out now. I have a TCI front IFS on order as well as a new Currie ford 9". i plan on putting in a chevy Gen IV 5.3 with a cam kit and some head work with the 6 speed automatic transmission.

Re: My Blue 1957 build
paint is going to stay the same. It will get a/c and power steering for sure. The fuel tank is going out back. I already have an IDIDIT column for it. Everything else we will see as it goes.......

Re: My Blue 1957 build
Well i got the engine and trans out. Started pulling lines off the frame. Ended up going with the Ls1 instaed of the genIV 5.3. More bang for the buck in the long run. Should be able to pick it up on thursday. Having a cam, push rods and dual valve springs thrown in it. Still waiting for the TCI front end and my Currie rear end.

Re: My Blue 1957 build
Thanks. Wasn't as bad as i thought it was going to be once i got the right parts. Apparently ford boxing plates dont work on a chevy. Still have some work to get done. Should get motor and trans in it within a couple weeks then i will finish cleaning up the front frame rails. I planeed to finish boxing them in and going to fill all the holes. Figure i should put my new welder to some good use.

Lookin' good. But check for clearence on your rack under your frame if you are planning to put air ride in.
