Short water pump issues?

I just got my bbc (454) in my 71 c10 and have ran into an issue with the clutch fan. I will have to go to a swp and pulleys if I run the swp and clutch fan set-up (clearance issues with the new rad). If I stay with the long water pump I will have to do away with the clutch fan and run electric fans. I know it will be cheaper to go with the electric fans and keep my lwp but I think it will cool better with the swp and clutch fan set-up?...What should I do?

Re: Short water pump issues?

All the engines in these trucks came with short pumps from the factory.
