Champion Radiator Top Mounting Bracket

Bought a new aluminum radiator off Ebay for my truck and just realized it sits so high, that the stock hold down bracket won't work. Has anyone found another bracket that works? Or a solution? Thanx very much.

Re: Champion Radiator Top Mounting Bracket

Use a 60-66 truck v8 radiator mount. Can get out of a yard...or saw a few on ebay $20 or so. I had the same problem when I used a Champion radiator that had the I6 mount.

No problem. The V8 mount will bolt in place of the L6 mount with no modification. I did trim the rubber inner mount just a hair (was a lil tighter than I wanted). You can use the existing L6 mount bolts also.

Re: Champion Radiator Top Mounting Bracket

Also...I did have to change my upper radiator hose. The Inlet on the radiator was diferent than the stock Harrison radiator I removed. Found a universal at O'Reilly's for around $10-12. The inner rubber pieces for the mount are the same for the L6 and V8, so if you get a mount w/no rubber pieces they can be ordered from most of the suppliers or just take them from your existing mount.
