205 detents toasted
I have an 87 k-30 with a 205 behind a t400. The detents seem to be completely gone. It will fall in and out of 4wd and also fall into neutral. I have to bungy the thing back in 4-hi to drive it. I know the case is getting tired and ready for a rebuild, but i was interested if anyone knew if there is a quick fix other than a complete teardown.

Check out this website which is a complete pictorial of how to rebuild a 205. By looking at it you may be able to fiquire out how to fix the detents.

Check the top of the transfer, the area by the shift rods. A long time ago I saw the screw plugs loosen up and do the same thing.
