What year truck is it off of? The earlier trucks had a wider molding than the 62-63

What kind of shape are the mirror heads in?

Possibly the mirror heads are ok. The arms have lots of surface rust and as you can see one is bent. Thanks for the inqury. Paul

For the record, the wide windshield trim came on 1960 deluxe models only, although I must admit I did just buy a 1961 that came with it also - first 61 I have ever been able to positively identify as actually coming from the factory with the wider trim. I am sure in some rare cases some of the first 61's did get it by default but generally speaking if you want to be "correct" in any 61-63 restoration you must use the narrow trim.
1961 was also the first year for the Aluminum grillles, so you have to use Aluminum instead of chrome plated steel for 61-66 to be 100% "correct".

I have a 61 Custom Cab that has the wide trim. It is a 40000 mile original survivor. I doubt whether anyone ever switched its lifetime. I have found out in 30 years of selling old truck parts I never say this is the only way something is or isn't . A person has to remember there were assembly lines running all over the U.S. . If you think they were going to shut down an assembly line when they could use a part on hand you might be mistaken. That truck would end up with the part on hand. Also what was done in one plant may not have been done in another plant. Or until the following year. I have had a few NOS parts over the years that were so rare that no one wanted to buy them. A few people even said they never made it. Until I produced the NOS GM installation sheet. Their response then became "well I have never seen one before".

Theres a 61 here in the junkyard with the wide trim, but the yard owner wants $250 for the windshield trim, its missing the revel clips & dented all to hell. I told him he could keep it. Could be the ealy 61's got some of the leftovers from 60 or possibly replaced with earlier trim?

I agree, I have seen 61 model year with both thick and thin.

What is the width of the wide and narrow trims.

The wide is on my truck (61 wide trim) which is at my shop so I cannot give you that measurement right now. The thins measure 1/2 inch. Thanks
