How Do You Remove the Knobs from Heater Panel?
I am replacing a missing lower heat control arm on a '70 GMC. I have a replacement arm with the little chrome knob, but can't figure out how the knob comes off the arm. Does it just pull off? I don't want to break my replacement arm if I am missing something.
I can't remove the replacement arm from the old panel with the knob on. Thanks, NoNeck

Yes, they just pull off. They can be tough to get off. I don't have any secret chants or VooDoo spells to make it easy, but if you can get something behind them and pry a little bit they should come off. Just move the lever to the off position and put some kind of padding on the face of the panel to protect it. LockDoc

Re: How Do You Remove the Knobs from Heater Panel?
I use a pair of needle nose pliers and close the jaws gently up to the lever so that the knob is touching the needle nose. Once the pliers are in place I use a small hammer against the needle nose pliers to drive the knob off.
It works well and the knob is not damaged. A small thin open end wrench would probably work also. Jim
