CaptainFab or somebody, do you know this diff carrier?

Hi again,
Jeremy here. Just wanted to know if you or anyone have/has seen such a unit. As I stated before, it is an original posi/locker (don't really know what to call it) for a 1963-1964 Chevy c10 12 bolt, 17 spline.

Captain, do you have any experiane with this carrier?
If so, why is there no info on the web.
Also, what is the actual name of this unit, and is it rebuildable?

I can't find anything on it?!

Best wishes,
Jeremy

Jeremy, that is the somewhat rare posi carrier I was talking about in your thread the other day. I don't know what to camm them other than a "Dana" posi carrier. That is what they were referred to when I got my first one about 35 years ago. I did find rebuild parts for it in about 1980-81, but I have no idea if there is anything available these days. I kind of doubt it. I suppose it is possible that the clutches for an Eaton posi could fit, I just don't know. Have you tried contacting any of the drivetrain specialty suppliers? You might try Toms Differentials and Reider Racing.

Those springs are very difficult to get out of their seat in the aluminum plates. When I rebuilt mine, I ended up breaking the corners off of the aluminum plates to get it apart, and then repaired the plates. Do you have reason to believe that this posi unit needs rebuilt?
