Hopefully i will be able to weld that in place of the roof i have right now which has some hard rust spots

Another thing which got my attention was when i took down my transmission i noticed a marking on top of it which was QA or OV im not sure

and lastely if any one could give me more info on my trans and what kind it is

P.S Sorry for so many pictures and not knowing how to make them smaller

Re: A couple things

I think that may be a syncronized 3-speed and the switch may be for a reverse light??not for sure though. Looks like you have a little work in front of you on the roof rust, good luck and stick with it.keep us posted.

Re: A couple things

Casting dates ,,,feb(B) 3 and feb(B) 27 and 1960(O) or 1970(O) ..The only reason I discovered that the 4 sp in my 63 was a 67 (and not a 57) was the presence of the reverse light electrical connector (introduced in 67).
So, I'd say ..late '70 or early '71.
And yes its a saginaw as 'bama63 said.
The production line marking could have indicated that it passed a particular inspection or possibly a code for what gearset to put in it.
Hope that helps
