2'' body lift
considering a 2" body lift on my truck to make room for my larger tires..my problem is I do not want my bumpers looking like there too low. Any ideas?

Re: 2'' body lift
Other than building custom brackets I dunno. Why body instead of suspension? Ride quality/comfort?

Re: 2'' body lift
Are the tires rubbing? If not, I'd say keep it the way it is. I really like the way the tires fill the wheel wells.

Re: 2'' body lift
Interested in this one. My son wants the 68 higher and with bigger tires. I assume he wants it to look like a 4wd. What would a suspension lift look like for a 2wd? In my mind I can picture the rear, but not the front. Not highjacking the thread, I'll be watching.

Re: 2'' body lift
Not just the bumpers to worry about. The steering column, the fan shroud, shift linkage, gas filler neck... not to mention the big gap between the bed and frame that will be visible. Body lifts are more of a PITA than a suspension lift.

Re: 2'' body lift
The tires are 31x10.5x15 on 10" rims. If I do go with a suspension lift...what does it consist of? I like the 4wd drive look. the truck on the cover of LMC TRUCKcb.67.

Re: 2'' body lift
Posted some links to this thread not too long ago that might have some helpful info. Many '73 up parts are adaptable with mixing and matching. If they can do it to lower a truck, raising should work just as well. Good luck and do try and avoid a body spacer lift.

Re: 2'' body lift
Got my 2" body lift kit package in today. I started with the bed lift. Got the blocks in place and it looked really nice but.....I did not like the fact that the bolts were not carriage head and none of the bolts were the correct length....not very happy with my purchase. I am gonna have to go and buy the correct length carriage head bolts. I do not recomend "PERFORMANCE ACCESSORIES" body lift kit.
