Re: Newb for Lincoln,NE

The truck mostly is a 1996 Ford F250 with a 47 Chevy body! Cab is widened 9" front grill is 12" wider and box is 16" wider. Updated and threw some go fast parts... Should be around 500HP 1100ft lbs trq. Chopped the frame up and boxed it, 4 link, air bags, Dana 60 with 3.00 gears, 33x12.50R15 on the rear... Best fuel mileage so far is 25.33 mpg. 4" down pipe into 6" exhaust into dual 8" stacks The pic was at Kearney and was puching 350hp then.. Spun the tires bad but ran 15.5's at 98MPH We'll see what 500+ and slicks will do! Ill post more pics soon!

Sadly, Kings Drive-In up on 14th and Superior is now a car lot. Cruising O.... haha.... spent many a Friday/Saturday night doing that.

Interesting truck, there, FatRat! So.... did you beat up on that Silverado? Maybe you can come out to my shop sometime and get my 47 going!!!

Pincrest, Yes I beat that truck... First time drag racing and first time beating on the truck... Made 11 passes that day and every time spun the tires like crazy! Ya Ill have to head up there some time! If your ever in Lincooln swing by ours! H&S Auto Service 2510 S48th! Current project is shortening a 92 Dodge Cummins 3/4ton and putting a 83 Ramcharger in it! My son will be 15 in July so want him to drive it as much as possible before he's 16! Also going to pick up a Model T 2dr Sedan to build another Diesel Ratrod!

Re: Newb for Lincoln,NE

Hey Guys. born and raised in Lincoln (Havelock), LNE '62 (our King's was the one on Cotner but we hit the others, too).

raced at Kearney a few times in the mid-'60's. Is that still the same strip?

I come back to see Dad every 3 or 4 months, I'll try to swing by and say hello,
FatRat

Larry, Do you remember the Standard station at 70 & Havelock Ave,? I worked there in the late sixties while going to Northeast. What a small world. Sorry FatRat47, didn't mean to turn this into old home week.

Re: Newb for Lincoln,NE

I remember there being a station there, but not the brand (OTD you know)

my house was (still is) 3 blocks south and 7 blocks west.

my apologies, too, FatRat

Re: Newb for Lincoln,NE

FatRat47, Are there any major car events in Lincoln comming up this year? I haven't been home in awhile and would like to come when something is happening. Your truck is so interesting I've got to be sure and look you up when I do come back. Something along those lines would make a great project in the future. I've never seen a diesel in any old trucks up here yet. I'll be checking during the Woodward Dream Cruise this year. If you haven't heard of it , Google it, Its the biggest in this part of the country. Have they had the cruise/show in Havelock yet this year? ET

Re: Newb for Lincoln,NE

sorry I havent been back on... ET if you go to www.enwicc.com you can look up the car council book for 2012. There are alot of shows. Havelock is Sept 9th.

To the guy I met at Seward on July 4th give my a call... I really need a tailgate and would love to see your collection of trucks! I would also like to build a 47-53 pickup box trailer to carry my junk around in!

Cool truck! Way too cool.

I don't know Lincoln, but my truck lived most of it's life in Alliance if that means anything.

Re: Newb for Lincoln,NE

Sorry I need to get on this site more! Our shop is H&S Auto Service, 2510 S48th in Lincoln.... I live just off 36th and South... Had it on a Dyno and pulled 505hp and 885 Ft lbs torque and this last weekend was at Kearney and Fastest 1/4 on mud tires was 14.06 and top speed 107! I think with slicks and a boosted launch I can be low 12's... If any of you guys are on Facebook you can look me up. Troy Gubser Thanks
