Good little score last night

Last night i made a 150 mile round trip to check out a SWB frame, was a 6 lug and was in very nice shape other than the rear section someone had welded in a trailer hitch and a strange tranny crossmember, But nothing that i can't fix, and my frame for the 71 is TOAST so its a start.
So i bought it for $500.

He also had a 71 which was ruff, a 70 4x4 that he sold a week ago, and a junk A/C super cheyanne cab.

The Super cab was wrecked, but the woodgrain dash and GBD were there, along with all the trim, and even a headliner (the trim all there but the chrome was all gone.
So i bought the cab for $100. I figure the dash and GBD are worth that, and i can salvage some of the trim.

It was a good night, i didn't pick up the frame yet, gave him a deposit, and took the dash and GBD with me.

Re: Good little score last night

Pretty cool! I love stories like this. A couple years ago one of my kids locked the keys to my wifes car inside and after attempting the cheap retrieval I had to call our local locksmith. He came over got the keys out and couldn't help but notice my torn apart '72 next to the car in the garage. He said he was closing down the auto repair part of his business and asked if I was interested to see the parts he was getting rid of. I went over and discovered a '72 one-ton dually with a big-block and factory buckets. I ended up coming home with the cab so I could get the much needed under-cab brackets for the seats and sold the remaining cab parts minus the seats for twice what I paid for the cab.
