Th350 transmission PAN
Well I started up my l6 250/th350 for the first time today in my 67 chevy truck. Still needs work before i drive it but transmission started LEAKING! Yup it has a lil hole enough to leak out alot when running. Went to the Salvage yard and found nothing but tore up pans and I dont want to keep spending money each day till I find one. So I was wondering how those aftermarket CHROME plane jane pans work? any PROS AND CONS to them? They are around $20 at the truck shop. I try to use as original as possible but am on a budget to do it right first time around. I am already out $20 on trans fluid hahaa

Re: Th350 transmission PAN
If it were me, I would post a WTB on the parts board for a clean used one, and then paint it. My brother has a chrome one and even if it didnt leak you would need to crawl under the truck and clean it from time to time. not fun

Re: Th350 transmission PAN
If thats the case I dont mind goin under once a month to clean it. I am keeping my truck stock height so I dont have to worry about raising it with a jack every time I have something minor to fix. I just thought the chrome might not be great around the gasket and would leak after awhile but if not then I am all for it. I cant afford to pay anything for the site right now but I will once I have a steady job. I LOVE THIS TRUCK SITE!

Re: Th350 transmission PAN
Im running a chrome deep pan on my Nova with no issues. If you truely on a budget, a little JB Weld goes a long way on things like the trans pan. If you have PayPal and can spare $10 I'll send you one. I've got a pile of them.

Chrome sucks! It's always seems to leak unless you take all the chrome off the sealing surface. I'd just save up and buy yourself a nice aluminum pan.

Re: Th350 transmission PAN
Thanks guys. I tried the "Pick your part" but everything was really bad and cracked as well. THey get them forklifts under the wrong part of truck and destroy alot of the pans. I found a place that sells used pans for $30 so I will probably just buy it off them instead of wasting money at these salvages. 1Quick70 thanks for the offer I would be all over that but I do not have a PayPal account nor do I own a bank account. Been out of work for sometime now and been a hardtime going for me. Thanks again guys I know what to do now
