winters quick change
Has anyone stuck a quick change rearend under our trucks? Thought it would allow me have highway gears for the road trips, but still run 3.73's around town
Its a 4x4 with a twin stick NP205, so i can put it in 2wd, front or rear Any thoughts, tried search, but couldnt get it to work....

Ok, already a snag. Winters will set it up with with ford backing plates, but have axle drilled for chevy lug pattern. How do i find ford drums with no holes, so i can run chevy rallies
Is there a company that makes drums, so i can ask them to drill chevy bolt pattern in them Dormann?

If you are going to invest the money in a winters quick change rearend for your truck.You should consider upgrading to disc brakes on the rearend to.Just a thought

mmmm...cool factor but expensive. Also expensive, but easier than changing gear would be a gear vendors overdrive.

Why not a ford 9 inch?You could run a 9 inch and have 2 different center sections set up how you want.Once you pull the axles out the center section is a few bolts.And with a 9 inch you can build a high pinion for more ground clearance off road too.

they aren't very strong.
you'll prob want the "3/4 ton" dirt car rear end. looks very similar to the classic but its huge. |

Ok, guys.... Think im changing plans. 700R4 trans. Still like this idea, easy to change final drive
Didnt know about the "3/4" ton axle, also didnt know they werent strong Downs, thanks for the pic
