12 Bolt Question
I bought atruck six months ago and it had five lug rear diff on it already. I'm trying to see if anyone knows the year off of the code from the axle.

You don't have to know the exact year to be able to get parts for it. All truck 12 bolt parts are interchangeable. Buying parts for a Chevy isn't like buying parts for a Ford, where you need to know the day of the week it was made
 The 5 lug bolt pattern started in '71. If you want to know the year, pull the cover and look at the date stamped on the ring gear. I can tell you though that the HA code is a 373 ratio open diff.There is a thread here somewhere with a bunch of differential codes in it.
