The bolt spacing on the caliper brackets is different, even though they're both PBR calipers. With the larger piston bore of the truck caliper, clamping force is probably negligible between the two designs, but the 'vette piece is undeniably lighter and 'cooler'...

Should I do the Centerline Bolevards and hide my brakes?

I'm not going for 'ALL looks' .. but the rotors and 4w disc would have a certain eye appeal to it if you could see it through the wheels. If I do the Centerlines, it could be kind of an 'all business' thing. I just hate to cover them up.

Talked to Dad today, we worked with Mike Hudlow (Hudlow Axle) and had my Mosers turned a little to make the rear discs work. They were turned on a lathe and just barely shaved to fit the hole in the rotor over the axle flange. Not a problem

I'll post pics shortly. We have also swapped out the carpet, and dad has a new windshield going in it on Thursday. I just might take Friday off !

On the carpet, are you going to be driving it before you get the buckets? I ask because the holes for the bucket seat mounts are different than the bench mounts of course so I wouldn't want you to have extra holes in brand new carpet....

My thought is if you really want to drive it right now....throw the black buckets in. Although make sure to drill/cut only for the passenger style fixed mounts on both sides. (can't remember now if you went with tilt forward or fixed on the passenger side though...did you get the tilt ones?)

Another option I just thought of are 73-87 brackets. With you being tall, they sit an inch and a half taller...the disadvantage is they will sit up a hair into the rear window. the advantage is it will be a more comfortable ride since you plan to carve corners in it and drive it And...I can give you a set of those mounts for the same price as the fixed mounts and they'd be adjustable on the driver's side and tilt forward on the passenger (I can ship those now so you could temporarily mount them to the black buckets if you want to drive it now)

I was just planning to put the carpet in and not mark or drill the holes until I got the buckets. Yeah, it has to sit for a few weeks, but the wheels / suspension would be out from under it anyway.. It's not going to hurt for it to sit without seats in it for a bit.

I'd really like t ogo a little lower actually with the seat position. Not just for the pimpin look from the side .. but just overall leg room. the 3OTT gets a little uncomfortable in 3rd sometimes. the gear shift is right on my knee.

I had actually considered building / modifying a set of mounts to make them about 1-1.5" lower than factory buckets. Plus, I look like I'm 8ft tall when I drive it when it had the bench in it.

ALSO* the bench will be for sale soon. I can't really ship it, but if anyone is interested. (?) Not sure what to ask for it.

I'd say go for it on making some mounts. It's just some c-channel....

there are some subtle bends but you wouldn't have to have them...or you can cut it at the bend areas to make bending easier then re-weld (what early classic does on theirs)

VA- we're good on those 69-70 cores, make it happen O' Picasso of the buckets. just let me know on the $. You've seen the truck, you know what I want... same color, just a bucket version. (or as close as you can get, I think Sandalwood is the ticket)

I have a set of aftermarket mounts that go under the cab to reinforce them and have been trying to find a local fabricator to recreate them. If you have any contacts let me know and maybe I can send the set to you to have them copied. I owe jocko a pair as soon as I get another set made...

Yep -- My brother in law is ridiculous with the CNC machine. He can make just about anything. Honestly, he would be the one to make my lowered seat brackets too.

If you want to send me the set I can put them in his hands and help you get them copied .. maybe we can help some others with similar ideas. One off custom mounts, etc. I can get it done.

Ok .. What if I went with Torq Thrusts? I know everyone has them and has for a while, but there's a reason for that. I have them on Dad's S10 and I still love the wheel. You can't go wrong with them for sure ..

Maybe I could do holowpoint caps on them, or even the flat caps and make them look a little more vintage road race'ish ? Run the safety wires through the caps like they did in the SCCA days?

I'm not afraid to paint them either. .. More expensive than Coys, but not as bad as the Centerlines.

I'm about tired of tossing around options, and just going to go with something. I'm so freakin indecisive.

Chad if you go with the torq thrusts you can get them with the gray centers. I love torq thrusts, I know everybody has them but like you said there is a reason for it. They are just awesome.

One of the hardest descisions that I had to make when building my truck was picking a wheel. God knows i went thru four sets of wheels and finally I am satisfied to a point with my current set up. In fact I made a poll and let the board members decide on my last three choices. Make sure that you really think carefully about your choice as you mentioned dont make a huge $$$ mistake...

GMC is sold but I kept the wheels for my current 72 Cheyenne Super clone project.

GMC was dropped 5"/7" it's bagged in the front w/dropped spindles and dropped leafs w/shackles & helper bags in the rear. Truck had c-notch and a shortened 9" in the rear.

TT2's are;
Front 17" x 9" (9.5" outside lip to lip width) w/4" bs
Rear 20" x 10.5" (11" outside lip to lip width) w/4" bs

Tires in the pics are Falken GRB FX-451 255/40ZR17 & 285/30ZR20.

Replaced later with BFG KDW (flame gruve pattern looks kool) 255/40ZR-17 & 295/45R-20 is what I am running now. Gave it more of a biggy & little raked look. Hated the rubber band look on the rear with the Falkens.

FYI-My stock 72 12 bolt is too wide to tuck these wheels with that bs. I picked up an earlier, narrower 12 bolt from a 67-68 that will put me closer (.75 per side) but before I buy axel’s I need to mock it up to see if it needs to be shortened.

No more gray 20" Torqs. they have been discontinued per Summit. (They called AR) They still have a few 4.75 BP, but not anything I could use.

Make them from a polished set or look for a used set of wheels. Could you steel the Coy's from your other build for now?

Those are Billet Specialties, but prob not. The backspacing is setup for the stepper bed and will look goofy on the fleet. Narrow rear vs. wide, 73+ Kmember up front. the wheels would sit way inside on the fleet.

How difficult is it to paint the polished wheels? Just 320 scuff / red scotchbrite then etching primer and paint? (of course mask off the lip)
