My first C10

This is my first post so I thought I would begin by showing my first ever C10 project. I have done muscle cars but never a truck. I bought this truck from the bank as a repo. Not sure who gets a '70 repo'd but hey it was good for me. My plans are to shorten it to a SWB and lower it 4/6. This is going to be my daily driver complete with AC. It has a 350 with a 700R4 already installed. I honestly know nothing about the truck's history so it should be fun.

Re: My first C10

Welcome to the board from just north of ya. It looks like a good start. That is a good color combo. Take some more pics of the interior and SPID label.

The previous owner probably put it up for collateral and lost it. I wish my bank had those around when I was looking for my first one.

Re: My first C10

You are probably correct. At least I didn't have to give much for it since the bank didn't want to deal with it. Here is some of the work I have done in the first two weeks.

Re: My first C10

The stereo in this thing sounds absolutely amazing. I'm working on it from the inside out because I enjoy driving it so much and I can't stand for it to be down. Doubleb's we come up to your neck of the woods to go to the races in Boone.

Re: My first C10

Man you didn't waste any time. The repairs look great! It's weird that it has A/C but the SPID doesn't list tinted windows. I thought they all automaticaly got tinted windows if the air conditioning option was checked. Keep posting your progress.

I have never went to Boone for the races. My family just never went up there. We always went to the Iowa State Fairgrounds growing up. I did buy my last GMC up there. It was a 68 that I saved from the crusher got it running and driving good again and sold it. The guy since has done a bunch of work so I think its going to hang around instead of being turned into a honda or something.

Welcome to the board! pretty nice color combo, and I love that you used real fiber in the kick panels instead of an old t-shirt!

Re: My first C10

Thanks Hector. The four Polk Audio 6 1/2s along with the Polk 10 will pretty much run ya out of the cab. Plans are to form a set of Polk tweets into the front pillars to really seal the deal.

Re: My first C10

LOL I've made 6 sets of those kick panels. Maybe I should quit selling insurance and make kick panels for a living. I get a $100 a set. PM me if you're interrested.

Re: My first C10

6 1/2s are about the only size I reccomend. That way they dont stick out to far and you dont have to cut into the original sheet metal of the cab.
