Post 3 on the tree i6 250 Step by step clutch change guide for newbies?

Where can I find such a guide or video? What transmission is on my 250? It's a 2 door 1970 panel Surburban with a 3 speed column shift, throwout bearing advice would be great also, I am just trying to prepare for the worst, it's my only ride!!

Welcome to the forum!
The first thing you need to do is contact one of the vendors on the forum, and tell them that you need a factory service and chassis manual.

The "big book" will tell you everything you need to know about regarding your questions on the throw out bearing and transmission, plus a lot more information on removing/replacing the mechanical components of your rig.

There can be a few types of transmissions in your rig, can you get under the truck and snap a few pics of the transmission for us?

Again, welcome to the forum. Be sure to check out all of the other sections here, since many of us who specialize in things like transmissions, electrical, suspension, and engines tend to hang out in those forums to which you can get a lot more responses to your specific question.

Thanks man, I am in northern California, am currently searching for 1970 Surburban carryall factory service manual, have found various pdf files and some photos and specs but so far no luck, its a 3 speed transmission, but I am not sure what model it is, gonna clean it up and try to find numbers, want to get prepared for my first clutch change, I know I will need the knowhow someday.
