Does anybody have an idea what the widest size tires you can fit stock on the back of an 86' and possibly a picture from the back toshow how it looks?

I have a 86 swb and put a 275/60/15 with no problem dont have pics right now at work.

You can run 296/50/15 with 5.5 backspace with no problem.

The rims are Ridler 695's, 20x8.5. Tires are 245/40zr20. Backspacing is supposed to be 4.75". I think I am going to throw a 1" spacer on the rear.

The best I can guess on my drop is 5/6", it was done while my Uncle owned it. But by going by the leaf pack and axle tube the back is 6".

Thanks for the comments guys, I am gonna try to squeeze out another inch with the static drop. We'll see.

The frame rails are pretty narrow on the back of these. Back in the day, Truckin' did a story about swapping the spring hangers to the inside of the frame and running the big Mickeys (21 inches wide) without narrowing the frame-and they tucked too. So the only thing in your way really, is the inner fender wells.
