Okay so today I was looking under the hood of my truck and was wondering if the motor is original or not. Where can I find the casting numbers to check what motor I have? Also I was looking at the the distributor and noticed the vacuum line on it ran into the back of the carb which is a q-jet. Is this supposed to be this way? I was looking at the emissions diagram thing on the radiator support and it show that from the distributor it should split and go into 2 lines, but mine only goes to the back of the carb. And a couple of other things in the "tubing" are not correct according to the emissions tag. Could this be a indicator that the motor was changed in the truck?

The casting numbers are usually on the side of the block (at least mine is)

Casting number is behind the head on the drivers side.
There's also numbers on the pad at the front passenger side right in front of the head.
Part of the serial number, a build date and a 2 or 3 letter code is there to narrow down your engines original use.
Take a pic of your carb where the vac line goes.

Okay thanks I'll get a picture tomorrow. These hoses are really bad,most are cut or lead to nothing.
