I had a 15x14 custom steelies w/31x18.5 MT's under my 67short fleet. The only frame mod was removal of the factory bumpstop & bracket on the outside of the frame. It might actually clear; the main reason I removed it was for clearance when it was lowered.

The only pics I have are from years ago & My scanner doesn't want to scan them for some reason. It looked like a typical pro-street truck, the main difference was I used offset wheels instead of narrowing the rear-end. I didn't want to narrow the rear because I knew eventually I would step up to big diameter wheels.... which I did.

Pretty sure the stock 15 inch steel rims are 3.5 offset. I've run 15 inch 4.5 offset rims with no problems.

SCOTI
If I make the frame mod and put some bigger tubs in the bed of my fleet side I should be able to run a 31x18 tire with out rubbing the frame. I do not have to move the trailing arms are anything else is that right.

The trailing arms remain stock.... you just can't use lowering blocks w/this set-up. I widened my tubs to the frame rail. I also had to tweak the e-brake cables so they wouldn't contact the wheels but that was pretty easy.
