Exhaust crossover-y pipe

I am trying to get my exhaust correct. I currently have it pieced together and constantly leaking. Could someone tell me the correct part number for a crossover. I am thinking about going back to the single exhaust.


What is the average cost for an exhaust system at a muffler shop.

I've had $500 quoted to me for full length with flowmasters. I don't recall if that included a cross over. Interesting thing I saw on one of the power block shows was that on a particular model of car, seems like a new Challenger, but not certain, an exhaust company they toured produces their ready to install system with an H pipe instead of an X because they showed on that particular vehicle they got more power out of the H. Other vehicles the X worked better.

Out here in small town Arizona I was quoted $450 for Flowmaster 50's and an H connection and routed out to in front of the rear wheels

and then

I was quoted $250 for straight pipes, routed the same place and using glasspaks.

I ended up buying an exhaust system with magnaflows for a gentleman in Oklahoma that was parting out his truck engine and trans.

I would stay with dual exhaust.

X-pipe and H-pipes synchronize the balance of the exhaust pulses from each bank of cylinders based on firing order which increases velocity and scavenging from each cylinder. Most people agree that X-pipes are better at improving performance than H-pipes, especially at the top end. However, H-pipes tend to have a deeper sound than x-pipe equipped vehicles and generally build power down low. These are general claims and your engine and exhaust combination could have different results.
