amateur question here...

besides the actual sway bar and brackets, what else to i need to add a sway bar to my '71 cheyenne?

Rubber bushings and grade 8 bolts. You'll have to remove 2 rivets from the front x-member to bolt to the frame. Your lower a-arms should be pre-drilled for the brackets there.

Thanks for all the positive comments on the frame. It is paint and it is brushed on, not sprayed. It is an industrial type coating made for wood, metal and even concrete floors. It takes quite awhile to dry so it does a good job of self leveling. Up close it actually does look like a powder coating. Because it drys fairly slow, you have to be careful not to get it on too heavy or it will run long after you have put your brush away. Everything on the frame has POR-15 as a first coat and it is top coated by about 3 coats of the yellow (takes a lot to cover the black POR-15).

If anyone is interested, I can get the specifics on it. I'm not sure how well it is going to hold up over time as it won't see any time on the road for awhile. Attached is a photo of the entire frame.

I bought the paint at a local paint store. If you're interested, I'd start by looking for a paint store in your local area that carries Benjamin Moore products. It comes in probably a dozen primary colors, but can be mixed in most any color you want. The cost for one gallon was around $30 and about $11 for a quart. It goes a long way though. I've done everything on the frame with about three coats and still have about 1/8 of a gallon left.

I love the way we go off topic. The frame is amazing - I think I'm doing pretty well with a clean black Por-15 coat. I'm going to add a sway bar myself, so thanks for the advice.
