Re: show us your Deluxe steering wheel

The one below is a '65. The one in the previous post is a '64. ('64 was last year for the white wheel and column). Also notice the difference in door panel treatment.

thanks, glad you caught that...i fixed it...& the funny thing is that i was questioning myself even before i posted, thinking that the '65 column/wheel was fawn...if i had just looked at the actual exterior truck picture which is next to that pic of the interior in my album, i woulda seen that it's a '64

Re: show us your Deluxe steering wheel

I was thinking that the door panels were painted different between 64-64.

Here's my '66 deluxe wheel, but it's been shrunk to 15".

Tasty work on those wheels. Sooo much better than a late model swap out.

Here's some closer shots of the wheel in my '65 Sub. While looking it over today i could not find even one flaw in it. Just amazing condition for an unrestored piece. 46K eeeasy miles, I guess.

if you meant 64-65, you're correct...the white on the '65 is only on the center most raised area where the handles/cranks attach, whereas the white on the '64 covers the recessed area just outside the raised part

Re: show us your Deluxe steering wheel

Are they the exact same steering wheel as 59-60 belair? I had one that looked just like that in a 60 belair, are they the same diameter and do they bolt on the same?

yes to the best of my knowledge they are the same. also the Impala under dash ashtray is the same as the truck under dash when you have factory a/c

Two more I have while I'm on my deluxe wheel kick.

Fawn wheel was from a 65 Deluxe c-10 and the green wheel was from a 1958 Chevy Del Ray

Re: show us your Deluxe steering wheel

Trying to restore the basket case deluxe steering wheel I was planning to use, I ended up cutting out the hub and spoke section and welding it to a wheel that I had cut down earlier for a '61 Pontiac project that never materialized…

…diameter comparison…
