72 gmc 2500 frame differences to 1500?
Hi all, new here. I picked a nice 2500 72 GM for a frame up race truck project.
My question here is , for simplicity reasons, is it possible to bolt up 1500 suspension tO the frame Posted via Mobile Device |

Ill expand on this a little more.
I plan on doing a lwb to swb conversion and along with that it'll lowered. So I'm just wondering if 1/2 ton suspension components can be used on a 2500 frame without modification? Posted via Mobile Device |

It is my understanding the 3/4 ton frame is a little bit thicker metal than the 1/2 ton so it will be stronger but it will also be heavier. Lighter weight is the key to fast cars.

Yes the 1/2 ton suspension will bolt onto A 3/4ton frame. It's what I did for my project.

Awesome thanks for the info rollin.
Just wondering, what did you do for power? I'm going with a fully built LS 6.0 aiming for about 650 ish crank. Do you think I should box the frame? |

I haven't finished my truck yet still all in pieces. But it will be powered by a 505 BBC stroker around 700hp and 150 shot of NOS. I'm am boxing the frame and back halfing my truck. I think running that kinda of horsepower boxing the frame can't hurt
