Finally towed my new 72 gmc home with pictures!

hey everyone! Story is, i was gonna trade my jetski for this truck. last minute, the guys wife put an end to that. so i came to check out the truck, we agreed on a price and i just had to wait to sell the ski. so, a week later i finally sell it. The owner of the truck is a great guy and he held off from selling it to anyone else so i could have it. I went yesterday(friday) to pick it up. I rented the uhaul car hauler and towed it with my 2003 silverado ext. cab with the 4.8 v8 and 7500 pound hitch. It pulled like it wasnt even there. Trailer worked great and stopped well too. Truck is only on its first repaint as original color is green and white and there is some green showing through the brown. power disc brakes, power steeering, leaf rear end, 350 v8, 12 bolt rear end. brand new never fired hooker comp headers. brand new pypes full stainless exhaust. m/t valve covers. only bad rust is where battery is located as its eaten through the metal. cant wait to get started and get that engine running. needs a radiator and some odds and ends. plans are.....KEEP IT LONGBED. slam it. keep the patina paint. make it fast and loud as hell and take it to the local shows and swap meets and cruise with the family....

Re: Finally towed my new 72 gmc home with pictures!

yea i love the look of the four eye gmc's. not sure if i should leave the paint alone or try to sand off the brown to get the original green showing again? took another picture of the engine. pulled all the plugs, squirted some oil in the cylinders and it turned over nicely by hand. Tomorrow, i will put the starter back in and turn it over with the key. also, it has an HEI distributor with petronix flamethrower unit under the rotor. Distributor is loose so it needs to be timed. Is there a good position to rotate the distributor to get it to start up and run decent without all kinds of backfire and flames shooting out of the open headers?
