Axle Shaft Length 65-66

Looking to order a set of axle shafts. On the website I am looking at they offer a direct replacement for 65-69 at 30.5 inches long. I thought 67-69 were wider by an inch and a half total. Am I thinking of a different year range?

Re: Axle Shaft Length 65-66

The axle length for the '63 to early '70 12 bolt is 30.5". In late 1970 when GM went wider with the rear differential, the length changed to 31.25". This length axle was used up thru 1987 in the C and K series, and thru '91 in the R and V series. Disc brakes were first available in the 2wd trucks in the 1971 model year. In the K series they were an option in as early as 1969.
