Inside firewall insulation
What else can be used besides the one that is in LMC and such, that seems a high just for some insulation

Well, I ran across this issue while working on another project car. I used a suggestion from another forum where you use the high density foam that is used for cheap camping mats from Wally world as the insulation, then glue on an oil absorbing mat found at OReilly auto. I used the original to make a template, cut and glued the two pieces together, then glued it to the firewall. It worked well and does keep the noise down from the engine compartment.

What about that peel and seal stuff from home depot? Would that work very well for this application?
