A little bit of help.
I'm working on a 1969 Chevy C10 with a straight six with my dad and we're putting in power steering this weekend and we're wondering how and where the power steering pump would mount in. If someone could help me and my dad out with this, I would appreciate it.

Re: A little bit of help.
You are gong to need the proper bracket for the engine. It should mount the alternator and power steering pump one above the other if it is like the one on my 250 that came out of a car.

Re: A little bit of help.
Best thing to do is to go to all the salvage yards in your area and see if you can locate a vehicle (car, truck or van before the integrated head sixes) that has power steering and take everything from it. By everything I mean everything in front of the engine including all the pulleys and mounting brackets, p.s. pump, p.s. gear box, alternator and mounting brkts, hoses and maybe even the belts so you can know what size to use. In other words don't just take what you think you may need. It will come back to bite you.
Here's some pics:

Re: A little bit of help.
There are also aftermarket kits available on ebay. I think they cost around $150. I have one, and while it was kinda pricey, it works well.

Re: A little bit of help.
I looked on ebay for some aftermarket kits for the power steering and everything I've found, looks like it won't work. Could you post a better picture of the aftermarket kit you have and some information on it, like where you got it possibly? We have a guy we're buying the power steering pump and gearbox off of a 72 C10 but we just need the mounting brackets for it and we can't find a junk yard that has anything.
