Stupid question but i gotta ask
I was just sitting here staring into space when i noticed my fuse box doesnt have any type of cover is it supposed to or does it just stay exposed?

Actually it is a good question. The underdash fuse block (that everyone has or had) is not covered. The RPO U98 Junction Wiring Box (not many have) located along the side of the drivers seat has a cover.

I'm thinking of getting a newer style to help me sleep tight haha. This old fuse block makes me a bit nervous... All this hard work going up because of some old wiring would kill me.

There's no cover on most of the newer trucks as well. At least for the under dash fuse panel/box. I have yet to work on a GM vehicle from 1950 to 2006 that has had a cover over the fuse panel/box.
