1977-79 malibu 350 into 1971 chev truck
Will this motor fit in my truck? Just want to make sure before I buy it as I heard a oldsmobile car motor would not fit.

A Malibu is a Chevrolet built car, not Oldsmobile. So, unless someone dropped a OLDS 350 Rocket, yes the engine will drop in on the factory mounts in your truck. That is if it has the V-8 mounts.

Thanks Joe, and yes I have a 350 in there now with a broken ring on one cylider so hopefully its a pretyy simple drop in without any issues.

Re: 1977-79 malibu 350 into 1971 chev truck
I used to work with a guy that had a chevy truck with a 350 olds in it and hooked to a chevy 350 turbo, if I remeber right it only had 2 bellhousing bolts in place..lol
But like was said that motor should drop right in same, same. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: 1977-79 malibu 350 into 1971 chev truck
Motor mounts aren't the same for OLDS and Chevrolet/GMC. Same goes for the bell housing bolt pattern. So, like I said before, if it is an actual Chevrolet 350 it will be a direct bolt in. Good luck with your motor swap.
