66 C10 Electrical Help
I have a new CD player in my 66 truck with a new Accel HEI distributor and super coil. The radio has so much feedback that it is not usable. I have replaced all grounds, battery, and alternator. I have read about the radio inteference capacitor. Is this needed? If so, how does it connect?

Re: 66 C10 Electrical Help
The plug wires are new and just standard wires. I have tried several different grounds and all of them give the same results. I have been doing stereo installs for 15+ years and have never run into something like this. I have tried everything.

Re: 66 C10 Electrical Help
Got resistor plugs? If not, they will make some noise. I have not seen an alternator cause radio noise.
I have used the noise suppression cap on a radio and it worked fine. It goes inline with the 12volt wire from the radio and there is another ground with it. Something like this one. Pyramid is junk, but Im using it as an example. http://compare.ebay.com/like/4003199...Types&var=sbar

Re: 66 C10 Electrical Help
I have actually tried one of those and it did not help. I have also tried different plug wires as well. It is a very strange issue. When the truck is under throttle the radio plays without issue. The second I let off the throttle it pops and cracks to the point of almost cutting off. I can touch the throttle and it stops.

Re: 66 C10 Electrical Help
Try a different 12 volt source, maybe straight off the battery.
