Remove interior --> Destroy interior
Hey guys! Got a question about my interior/flooring
I eventually plan on carpeting and insulating my interior the correct way but I need a budget fix for now that looks half way decent. I had to pull my flooring out to get to the top of my transmission to address a binding shift fork, Little did I realize the original rubber floor mat was soft as Velveeta Cheese, I would attempt to peel it back and it would just tear, needless to say I pretty much destroyed it trying to get it out. I didn't know the horror that lurked beneath.. drivers side passenger side Does anyone know of a website that sells replacement rubber flooring for cheap? I am creative and good with my hands, is there anything that I could use for insulation? I'm looking for DIY style input, not just ordering replacment floors, insulation, and dynamat.. Should I check craigslist and scrap yards? Thanks guys! Appreciate it!

Re: Remove interior --> Destroy interior
Ace Hardware has some vinyl floor like rugs they sell by the foot. Also you can check carpet stores dumpsters for scraps.
Did you get that trans. figured out?

Sorry I lost track of your trans. post. Did you get that cover off?

Re: Remove interior --> Destroy interior
No worries man! Good call, I'll have to check out ace hardware in a few days, didn't think about that
Yes, I did get the cover off, brought out the trusty crowbar after I stopped playing games lol. Got inside the transmission, gears all looked good, a little wear on reverse, synchros looked good. I have a friend who is a machinist that pressed out the rollpins in the stick and fixed the slop but it was still binding in the forks. We ordered a rebuild kit off ebay that will replace all the little springs and bearings up top so she should shift like new when I get that kit in, fingers crossed. Thankful for help from a good friend on this one with the right tools.
