Air bag Pricing

Good Morning

I would like to put airbags on my truck. A 68 c10. All the kits seem to be 2000.00. There has to be a cheaper way. I know everybody doesnt pay that for air bags. I do how ever what to use drop spindles in the front. I would also like to build a custom air tank to go behind my seat where the gas tank was.

Any help would be great!

Re: Air bag Pricing

Morning....

It all depends on what components you want to use and how you setup the air management side. To properly setup the air bag suspension, you will want certain components like an adjustable trac bar, relocated shocks, good compressor(s), etc.

We have our Pro1 67-72 Air Ride kit that is priced at $2,325. That comes with Porterbuilt components and an air management system that uses an AccuAir valve. You can get this same setup, but go with our 1/4" Manual Valve System, which will save some money.

The Pro1 with 1/4" manual system and added drop spindles, would be $1,930 plus shipping. It does come with the adjustable trac bar, c-notch, shocks, bags, and everything you need. All the components to bag your truck the right way and using good products.

Re: Air bag Pricing

I paid $1400 for a complete accuair switch speed kit with 4 re7 slam bags from a vendor on this site. You can get an air system less costly with other brands.

Re: Air bag Pricing

How long does that pro1 air bag system take to air up and air down your truck? Just curious because im also in the market for a bag system but I want something that will air my truck up in under like 10 seconds.

Re: Air bag Pricing

If you are using the Pro1 Air Ride kit and using the 1/4" manual air management system, it will lift the front in under 10 sec. If using the Pro1 Air Ride kit as it comes with the AccuAir VU4 and 3/8" line, it definitely will.

Re: Air bag Pricing

If you want to build a decent system, It's gonna cost close to the same as what Pro Performance charges. I have just put one together, and ended up getting compressors and mounting kits (Porterbuilt) from Travis. The thing to keep in mind, though, is that a junky air ride set up is a time bomb. I put my own together, and what little money I saved over a kit I spent in gas and time and messing with jacklegs from craigslist. If I had it to do over, I would have bought my manual valves from DLOE, and everything else from Pro Performance. If you don't have the money for a full air ride system, you can do one end at a time, or you can run drop springs (which have really gotten cheap) for the "lowered look."

Re: Air bag Pricing

I would buy everything from one of our vendors like Pro Performance,I wouldn't even try to make a air tank,It could leak or worse a weld let go with the tank at full pressure won't be pretty with you sitting inches from it.And stay away from a company called airbagit or chassis tech its the same company and is well known for selling junk.

Re: Air bag Pricing

Trust me once you get the money to do it right you will be a lot happier in the end,I have seen a few of my friends bag there mini trucks super cheap and end up hating it.And on putting the tank behide the seat take some measurements see how much room you have to play with.

Re: Air bag Pricing

I just bought the Pro1 system and porterbuilt goodies from ProPerformance (Travis.) Nice little package. I'll let you know how the install goes. Hopefully we'll be able to get it done sometime in November.
