Re: Bench Seat?

I believe it will but all the mounting holes are not the same. You might have to drill new ones, I did. The actual seat dimensions are the same from 67-72 so you can order a new seat cover and it will fit any of them but as I found out the mounting brackets and sliders are not all the same. Drilled some holes and bolted it in and off I went.

Re: Bench Seat?

I think what you do is bolt original brackets to new seat.

Re: Bench Seat?

I have never seen any difference in mounting holes for bench seats. I think some of the seat tracks used were different throughout the years, but they all used the same mounting holes on the floor of the cab. 67-68 buddy buckets bolt right in to any year truck.

Re: Bench Seat?

Bench seat bracket FAQ says the "floor side" (mounting) is the same. check it out, cool thread.

I wish it was that easy for me.

I will have to say that I have absolutely no idea what year my current bench seat came from. The one in the truck was shot and I asked around and found a guy that said he had one with good springs that would fit right in and match the seat cover that I had already purchased. The seat cover was for a 67-72 bench and it DID fit exactly on the new bench-year unknown.

Nothing about the mounting brackets on the new seat matched the original one. Attachment geometry and location under the actual seat (therefore the need for new holes) were totally different. So was the height, I had to use some spacers to raise the new seat. None of the parts were interchangeable and none of the holes matched, but the actual bench seat was the same dimesions. The new seat also had a totally different spring design. I had hoped at first to just find replacement springs for the seat that was in the truck. New cover fit like a glove even though the mounting was totally different and the spring design was completely different.

Maybe the seat I was sold came from a C50 or something. Other people will have different results in swapping benches but this is just what happened to me.
