Re: Project Little Black Truck
Had a good notion on the springs, at last count I've dropped 20+ of these type of trucks and cars. Bought 1-ton springs to cut for LBT. Trying to decide if I wanna juggle the different configurations on leaf, or see about switching to trailing arms. A flip kit seems a hair too low, but I dunno. Got the rearview hung (again, it stuck this time), got the power window motor in and buttoned up the pass side last night. It's nice to have 2 functioning windows! Really wasn't near as bad as I thought it'd be. Drove LBT to work today! I'll see if I can get pics up this weekend of the 10's they're gonna be cool. I ordered some stuff yesterday to polish them with, so we'll see.

Anxious to see the wheel polishing technique! Boy has them Camaro wheels on the S10 and it'd be cool to do some polish on those.

Re: Project Little Black Truck
Good! Here at work on 2x Sunday makin' truck bux! Played with polishing (meh) fixed a back brake, now it vibrates on decel. Now I have 2 vibrating trucks. My heart soars like a hawk. I might swap ujoints this week, see what happens. Been thinking of some plans for LBT, but mostly sitting on my rapidly expanding azz and trying in spurts to get yeller to roll smooth and act right. Thanks for checking on me!

Re: Project Little Black Truck
Thanks for the props! Well, I hope I can make 'em cool. Every time I think of doing something different, I see the pic of Rene's (c10 King) black 71 with the WAY polished slots and I think that'd be cool to do with my 90's geek rims. I checked with one of the best shops locally, 186/rim to polish! I don't have much more than that in the whole damn truck! So, I gotta get a new plan. Just driving the old crate for now. My Gift cert for LMC came in the mail yesterday, Yaay! Gotta swing by and shake a tree for some paint bux owed me, and get to workin' some OT!

Re: Project Little Black Truck
I had these slots repolished and the chips welded in on the edges....it cost about $750. (they are quite dusty in the pic from sitting around)
Personally, I'd like to encourage you to keep your existing rims....is there anything you can do at home to brighten them up? I heard some stories about very light sandpaper and WD40 to bring the shine back and sand down gouges but I'm not sure that's true.

Re: Project Little Black Truck
Preach on, Brother! Them Slots look good! Jonboy on here is a big slot fan, as well. Flyin' Ryan here at work has a semi-pro polishing rig, and a hook-up with a guy halfway across the state for polishing. My 10's are stripped to bare metal, the 8's are still on the truck, and clear over machined. I'd also like to get the lug holes opened a tad, they're really tight, can't hardly get a socket into 'em. It looks good when I put 'em on and mocked 'em up! We'll see, still bustin' on Yeller.
Gordon, are those going on the '87? The White truck came out beautiful! You got more guts than me, painting the whole thing White Diamonds! Boppa has a Buick that color, 'bout gave me an ulcer spotting it in! Used LBT to get a bunch of antiques on Fri, hope I can sell 'em for truck bux. I'm the world's worst buyer and seller. If I only sell one thing out of this deal, I'm ahead, though.

Now that Yeller is done (and congrats on going to the show by the way) I can turn my attention to LBT.

Re: Project Little Black Truck
Oh, don't be fooled. Those Meguiars people really know their stuff! LBT got pressed into service this weekend running back and forth to World of wheels. Lots easier to park, and the gas gauge works!

Always like the slots... and love the truck... especially since it's Black. I want to get a 75 or so when I get done with my current project.

Re: Project Little Black Truck
Thanks! No, the big ones aren't on yet. LBT is in about a foot of snow beside the house. I wanna open up the lug holes, then have a set polished for spring. You can't hardly get a socket over the current lugs. Probably drop Vic's at the polisher at the same time. He's in Columbia, so I gotta make it count. I blew up the four wheeler yesterday, so that's one more thing on the list! I'd love to lower LBT, but the front end is SHOT. So, it'd be bux to do it "right". We'll just have to see, I'm in no hurry. Thanks for the props!

Re: Project Little Black Truck
C'mon spring time! I'm trying to save up some truck bux too. If it's anything like here, people wait all winter and bring me parts to paint when it warms up. Then it's like how fast can you get it done cuz it's riding weather.

Re: Project Little Black Truck
I hear ya! This new project I'm calling "Billy Badazz", as in you got us into this, Billy Badazz, now get us out! Fenders, quarters and rockers metalworked, roof bodyworked, and paint reshot on an 84 Mazda 626, of all things. No biggie on the rockers, but the Driver's 1/4 will have to come from thin air. This oughta be fascinating. As a friend says, sometimes you gotta make sure they still clank!
